Scripture: Ps 98; Isaiah 45:21-25; Galatians 6:14-18; John 12:31-36a
Scripture standout: John 12: " 35 Then Jesus told them, “You are going to have the light just a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, before darkness overtakes you. Whoever walks in the dark does not know where they are going."
His Deed/The Day: Marley always says how hungry she gets during guitar class after school. She can tell you every snack every kid in the class ever had, it is a big deal. Sometimes I remember to pack her a little somethin somethin extra. Sometimes I forget. Today I remembered to stick an entire sleeve of Saltine crackers in her guitar case. It was better than Christmas, now she is the snack legend. Sometimes it only takes a sleeve of saltines to really hook somebody up.
What happens when you deliberately tweak your conscience to be more aware of meeting others' needs? Every day? And if it happens to be Lent...for 40 days? What does that look like? What deeds would transpire? What blessings come back? How do we listen for direction? Wake up each morning and decide to be intentional about bringing others better into focus with a little prayer, silence and scripture. Let the daily deeding commence! #DoingUntoOthers #OthersFirst #OneDeedADayGo
How to Do-Good
Quick How-To Guide: Start the day with a little silence, scripture (via Forward Day by Day, if you choose) and prayer. Then open your eyes and make it a practice to be hyper-aware of who and what's going on around you. Deploy that deed with confidence when God gives you his signature gentle nudge. This may feel awkward and unnatural. #NoWorries #GoWithIt #DeedWellDone #BlessingsEnsueJustWait
