How to Do-Good

Quick How-To Guide: Start the day with a little silence, scripture (via Forward Day by Day, if you choose) and prayer. Then open your eyes and make it a practice to be hyper-aware of who and what's going on around you. Deploy that deed with confidence when God gives you his signature gentle nudge. This may feel awkward and unnatural. #NoWorries #GoWithIt #DeedWellDone #BlessingsEnsueJustWait

Do a Deed a Day...and Share Unto Others!

Are you turning 40, or been around what feels like 40 days and 40 nights...or maybe 40 million more? Do you watch Housewives of Whatever County and think, "WHEW! I'm doing OK...At least I don't pull out my friends' weaves, or wigs:

At least my mansion isn't in foreclosure.

At least I'M not Tardy to the Party."

RSVP yes to another party...the best party of all...The party of good-deeding. Take the mirror off your age spots, sagging hiney, messy house and multiplying grey hairs. Watch your youth and joy return 40-fold as you hone in on doing at least ONE good deed a day. Feel your vision improve when you focus your lens on the Good Samaratinizing happening every day all over the world.

Join in on the "One Deed a Day Challenge." It's easy! Just do unto others, and share unto others what acts of kindness and Good Samaratin-izing occurred that day — right here on this page.

How does it work?

Here's some direction:

1. Try to read a little scripture each morning, just to set your brain straight and maybe glean a little something to think of all day.
2. Take a quiet moment to be thankful. Or pray. Ask God to let you be a blessing. Get ready to be used.
3. Stay focused on each person you encounter each day. Ignore the urge to get into your daily zone. Seek in earnest a way to be a help, to be a blessing. Look for opportunities. Check out some of the resources on this blog for inspiration. Make a small donation. Hold the door for someone. It doesn't have to huge to make an impact.
4. Share them right here on this blog when you feel moved to do it!
5. See how much good happens when we all just open our eyes to each other's needs.

You can do it! Don't be tardy to this party. It doesn't have to be a whopper deed. Focus on something little, and see what big blessings emerge.
