How to Do-Good

Quick How-To Guide: Start the day with a little silence, scripture (via Forward Day by Day, if you choose) and prayer. Then open your eyes and make it a practice to be hyper-aware of who and what's going on around you. Deploy that deed with confidence when God gives you his signature gentle nudge. This may feel awkward and unnatural. #NoWorries #GoWithIt #DeedWellDone #BlessingsEnsueJustWait

Day 184

Scripture: Ps 56, 57, 64, 65; 1 Kings 21:1-16; 1 Corinthians 1:1-19; Mathew 4:1-11

Scripture standout: 1 Corinthians 1: "18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19 For it is written:
   “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise;
   the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.”

Morning thoughts:
His Deed/The Day: I had to make a Publix dash today just after lunch. I'd been working pretty much nonstop at the computer since my morning run. And I had about 45 minutes to go to the store, get balloons the cake the etc. etc. etc. for Marley's 10th birthday party pizza party in the park — which we'd be rolling into at 6 p.m. after a long afternoon of music lessons. It was a precision move. I felt my blood pressure rising with challenge of getting it all done efficiently. Instead of storming into Publix on a mission, I decided to sashay into Publix smiling at each person I passed. Amazing what happens when you slow down, smile and focus on the people around you.
