How to Do-Good

Quick How-To Guide: Start the day with a little silence, scripture (via Forward Day by Day, if you choose) and prayer. Then open your eyes and make it a practice to be hyper-aware of who and what's going on around you. Deploy that deed with confidence when God gives you his signature gentle nudge. This may feel awkward and unnatural. #NoWorries #GoWithIt #DeedWellDone #BlessingsEnsueJustWait

Day 32

Scripture: Ps 130; Ezekiel 37:1-14; Romans 8:6-11; John 11:1-45

Scripture standout: Romans 8: "6 The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. 7 The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. 8 Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God.
9 You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ. 10 But if Christ is in you, then even though your body is subject to death because of sin, the Spirit gives life[a]because of righteousness. 11 And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of[b] his Spirit who lives in you.

Morning thought: I have never read that Ezekiel passage before. It's too long for me to put in this blog, but I highly recommend it for anyone who has little boys in their world. I believe the message to be similar to the nicer, more cerebral explanation in Romans 8, above. But the Ezekiel story is a total Pirates of the Caribbean reading experience. Check it out! My Sunday School class, which is all fourth- and fifth-grade boys will LOVE this story. And I will remember it too on those days when I feel like a dried up carcass in a dessert wasteland.
