Prayer: yes
Scripture: yes
Silence: yes, in every cab, concentrating on not tossing my cookies!
The Deed/The Day: what a great day an weekend of star-darring! From Hoda and Kathi Lee to Annette Benning and Jill Hennessey, we had some great sightings during this trip. Our experience was heightened at tonights showing of That Championship Season where we saw Lost Boys Keiffer Southerand an Jason Patrick on stage with Chis Noth. At the end, Keiffer made the audience ask for the charity fundraiser. Brilliant. Deed done with two singles plopped into the red buckets. I also attempted lots of deliberate eye contact smiling and door holding...Fun and plentiful on a sunny bright NYC day on 5th. Rewards were great at our apre show dinner, where we dined with Keiffer and Alec Baldwin. NYB made some deliberate eye contac with The Keef, I gawked.
What happens when you deliberately tweak your conscience to be more aware of meeting others' needs? Every day? And if it happens to be Lent...for 40 days? What does that look like? What deeds would transpire? What blessings come back? How do we listen for direction? Wake up each morning and decide to be intentional about bringing others better into focus with a little prayer, silence and scripture. Let the daily deeding commence! #DoingUntoOthers #OthersFirst #OneDeedADayGo
How to Do-Good
Quick How-To Guide: Start the day with a little silence, scripture (via Forward Day by Day, if you choose) and prayer. Then open your eyes and make it a practice to be hyper-aware of who and what's going on around you. Deploy that deed with confidence when God gives you his signature gentle nudge. This may feel awkward and unnatural. #NoWorries #GoWithIt #DeedWellDone #BlessingsEnsueJustWait
