How to Do-Good

Quick How-To Guide: Start the day with a little silence, scripture (via Forward Day by Day, if you choose) and prayer. Then open your eyes and make it a practice to be hyper-aware of who and what's going on around you. Deploy that deed with confidence when God gives you his signature gentle nudge. This may feel awkward and unnatural. #NoWorries #GoWithIt #DeedWellDone #BlessingsEnsueJustWait

Day 11

ScripturePs 89:1-4, 26-29; 2 Samuel 7:4, 8-16; Romans 4:13-18; Luke 2:41-52

Scripture standout: 2 Samuel 7:  “‘The LORD declares to you that the LORD himself will establish a house for you: 12When your days are over and you rest with your ancestors, I will raise up your offspring to succeed you, your own flesh and blood, and I will establish his kingdom.

Morning thought: I'm in North Carolina right now helping a dear friend's mother establish a foundation, a kingdom, for her late daughter. It's funny sometimes how relevant scripture has been each morning to things going on in my world. I am so enjoying being here with my childhood friends — we're a motley crew of folks from all faith backgrounds. A Jewish friend, a Catholic-raised friend, two raised in Christian Science, a Whisky-palian and one raised as a Jehovah's Witness who now longer has faith — all working to bring a Muslim girl from Afghanistan to one of the country's most prestigious women's colleges. I am praying for harmony and helping this sweet mother accomplish establish a house for her daughter, our friend since kindergarten. This is not a religious effort, but a spiritual one for all of us on some level no matter what our beliefs. Want to meet her? Visit www.paulaloydfoundation.org. We're working on the site this weekend, so it's in progress.
