Prayer: Yes
Scripture: Yes
Silence: Again, not meaningful silence — but found silence driving myself to airport
The Day/The Deed: Nothing big, although quick note — the airport, like the post office, is full of opportunities! I watched a woman boarding with me looking confused. I helped her figure out her zone. Easy peasy. Done. Now off to do some do-gooding of a different kind in Raleigh, N.C. It's the first official board meeting of The Paula Loyd Foundation. My late friend's dying wishes were to bring girls from the poorest areas of Afghanistan to Wellesley, her alma mater. Talk about do-gooding, our work is cut out for us.
Words of encouragement/advice: More later
Final thoughts: Next time you travel, look at the airport in a new light!
What happens when you deliberately tweak your conscience to be more aware of meeting others' needs? Every day? And if it happens to be Lent...for 40 days? What does that look like? What deeds would transpire? What blessings come back? How do we listen for direction? Wake up each morning and decide to be intentional about bringing others better into focus with a little prayer, silence and scripture. Let the daily deeding commence! #DoingUntoOthers #OthersFirst #OneDeedADayGo
How to Do-Good
Quick How-To Guide: Start the day with a little silence, scripture (via Forward Day by Day, if you choose) and prayer. Then open your eyes and make it a practice to be hyper-aware of who and what's going on around you. Deploy that deed with confidence when God gives you his signature gentle nudge. This may feel awkward and unnatural. #NoWorries #GoWithIt #DeedWellDone #BlessingsEnsueJustWait
