Scripture: Ps 105:1-45; 2 Samuel 15:1-18; Acts 21:27-36; Mark 10:32-45
Scripture standout: Mark: "43 Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, 44 and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. 45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
Morning thoughts: There 'tis! That there's the bottom line. That's the whole crux of life — and certainly this experiment. Can I be a slave, can I be last, can I try to be like Christ and serve — not expect to be served?
Can I be a little more like Vera...and Flo...and Alice...
...And a little less like Kyle...and Kim...Lisa, Taylor, Adrienne...and Camille?
His Deed/The day: Helped the ladies with art hour at VBS again. I decided sometimes it's easier to be a servant than to have a servant's heart. I did not have the latter today. I was feeling sorry for my self. Wah.
What happens when you deliberately tweak your conscience to be more aware of meeting others' needs? Every day? And if it happens to be Lent...for 40 days? What does that look like? What deeds would transpire? What blessings come back? How do we listen for direction? Wake up each morning and decide to be intentional about bringing others better into focus with a little prayer, silence and scripture. Let the daily deeding commence! #DoingUntoOthers #OthersFirst #OneDeedADayGo
How to Do-Good
Quick How-To Guide: Start the day with a little silence, scripture (via Forward Day by Day, if you choose) and prayer. Then open your eyes and make it a practice to be hyper-aware of who and what's going on around you. Deploy that deed with confidence when God gives you his signature gentle nudge. This may feel awkward and unnatural. #NoWorries #GoWithIt #DeedWellDone #BlessingsEnsueJustWait
