How to Do-Good

Quick How-To Guide: Start the day with a little silence, scripture (via Forward Day by Day, if you choose) and prayer. Then open your eyes and make it a practice to be hyper-aware of who and what's going on around you. Deploy that deed with confidence when God gives you his signature gentle nudge. This may feel awkward and unnatural. #NoWorries #GoWithIt #DeedWellDone #BlessingsEnsueJustWait

Day 150

Scripture: Ps 89:1-18; 2 Samuel 13:23-39; Acts 20:17-38; Mark 9:42-50

Scripture standout: Mark 9: "50 “Salt is good, but if it loses its saltiness, how can you make it salty again? Have salt among yourselves, and be at peace with each other.”

Morning thoughts: Salt does make everything taste better. I am a very salty gal when it comes to food. Love garlic salt, too. In fact, there are very few things I cook that don't feature garlic salt prominently. I mean, a big hunk of chocolate is fantastico — but I think my palate leans toward the salty. I think my palate is often ADDICTED to the salty. Among those honkin' delicious food items — the ones that invite my hand back in the bag time after time, after time — are:

The benign looking healthy cheese puff...ahem..NOT so benign

The Pringles Sour Cream and Onion tube. Not enough! Also, the regular can please. No Olestra. Eeeew!

Sushi...any will do as long as it isn't too fishy. Rainbow roll. California Roll. Tuna. Whatever. Just load me up with a deep dish of soy sauce.

Of course...bacon is on the list. This is Marley's favorite dish in the world. That and beef jerky.

Salt brings out the flavor in food. It makes you want more. And too much of it isn't good because it makes your fingers swell. Salt is a key ingredient in most recipes. Can I be salty today?

His Deed/The Day: Loved Firehouse Subs today for two reasons: 1) they allowed me to "round up" and give 57 cents to a fireman's charity. 2) got to eat lunch with a friend I haven't seen in a while. It was a treat to catch up. I had a bracelet on that was much more "her" than me, so followed an urge and slipped it off my wrist onto hers.
