Scripture: Ps 106:1-48; 2 Kings 21:1-18; 1 Corinthians 10:14—11:1; Matthew 8:28-34
Scripture standout: 1 Corinthians 10: "24 No one should seek their own good, but the good of others."
1 Corinthians 10: " 31 So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. 32 Do not cause anyone to stumble, whether Jews, Greeks or the church of God— 33 even as I try to please everyone in every way. "
His Deed/The Day: Had another family over for dinner, but I was instead deeded by RB's generosity. Not only did she help me with Marley yesterday, but she arrived at dinner with lunches for the kids' backpacks. Sigh. Being deeded is the best....
What happens when you deliberately tweak your conscience to be more aware of meeting others' needs? Every day? And if it happens to be Lent...for 40 days? What does that look like? What deeds would transpire? What blessings come back? How do we listen for direction? Wake up each morning and decide to be intentional about bringing others better into focus with a little prayer, silence and scripture. Let the daily deeding commence! #DoingUntoOthers #OthersFirst #OneDeedADayGo
How to Do-Good
Quick How-To Guide: Start the day with a little silence, scripture (via Forward Day by Day, if you choose) and prayer. Then open your eyes and make it a practice to be hyper-aware of who and what's going on around you. Deploy that deed with confidence when God gives you his signature gentle nudge. This may feel awkward and unnatural. #NoWorries #GoWithIt #DeedWellDone #BlessingsEnsueJustWait
