Scripture: Ps 65; Deuteronomy 8:7-18; 2 Corinthians 9:6-15; Luke 17: 11-19
Scripture standout: 2 Corinthians 9: "7 You should each give what you have decided in your heart to give. You shouldn't give if you don't want to. You shouldn't give because you are forced to. God loves a cheerful giver."
His deed/The Day: Happpy Thanksgiving! I'm thankful for so much on this day. Marley and I are heading out to run the Thanksgiving Day 1/2 Marathon. Marley's doing the 5K. I however, will be huffing and puffing through the 13 miles dreaming of food and wine and it being over. I also will be giving thanks for at least one thing per mile...and reflecting on a wonderful year.
What happens when you deliberately tweak your conscience to be more aware of meeting others' needs? Every day? And if it happens to be Lent...for 40 days? What does that look like? What deeds would transpire? What blessings come back? How do we listen for direction? Wake up each morning and decide to be intentional about bringing others better into focus with a little prayer, silence and scripture. Let the daily deeding commence! #DoingUntoOthers #OthersFirst #OneDeedADayGo
How to Do-Good
Quick How-To Guide: Start the day with a little silence, scripture (via Forward Day by Day, if you choose) and prayer. Then open your eyes and make it a practice to be hyper-aware of who and what's going on around you. Deploy that deed with confidence when God gives you his signature gentle nudge. This may feel awkward and unnatural. #NoWorries #GoWithIt #DeedWellDone #BlessingsEnsueJustWait
