How to Do-Good

Quick How-To Guide: Start the day with a little silence, scripture (via Forward Day by Day, if you choose) and prayer. Then open your eyes and make it a practice to be hyper-aware of who and what's going on around you. Deploy that deed with confidence when God gives you his signature gentle nudge. This may feel awkward and unnatural. #NoWorries #GoWithIt #DeedWellDone #BlessingsEnsueJustWait

Day 234

Scripture: Ps 34:1-10, 22; 1 John 3:1-3; Matthew 5:1-12; Revelation 7:9-17
Scripture standout: Matthew 5: "3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 Blessed are those who mourn,
   for they will be comforted.
5 Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
   for they will be filled.
7 Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart,
   for they will see God.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God.
10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."

His Deed/The Day: I held my tongue yesterday. When I said my morning prayers, I said, "God give me words if I'm supposed to say them. If not, for Pete's sake give someone the words." Thank goodness I waited patiently for a response and didn't call some of my bitchier friends to open a can for me. The right thing happened, it was a conversation that I think will help improve my loved one's hurt feelings. And praises galore that I didn't have to inject myself into the situation.

Some more great news...I have the green light to adopt a new God-daughter! I have been thinking how wonderful it would be to include the sisters of two goddaughters in out little god-girl circle. I have been privileged to be the godmother of three gorgeous, fun girls ranging. Now they're 4ish and 10ish. But I've had a hankering on my heart to see if I could also play some kind of supportive role to their equally as sweet sisters. I through the idea out to one of their mothers, a good friend. She said the timing was uncanny because her daughter was wishing things were different in that department. Just the past week, in fact, they'd had a conversation about it. Isn't good timing great?
